Nuggets Extend Winning Streak over Lakers
The Denver Nuggets opened their playoff campaign with a convincing victory over the Los Angeles Lakers in Game 1 of their opening round series. The Nuggets were led by Nikola Jokic, who was dominant as usual.
Jokic finished the game with 32 points, 18 rebounds, and 7 assists. He was a force on both ends of the floor, leading the Nuggets in scoring and rebounding and also playing stellar defense on Lakers star Anthony Davis.
The Nuggets jumped out to an early lead and never looked back. They led by as many as 20 points in the second half and cruised to a 118-102 victory.

The Lakers, meanwhile, will need to find a way to stop Jokic if they want to get back into the series. Davis had a solid game with 26 points and 10 rebounds, but he was no match for Jokic.
The Lakers will also need to improve their shooting. They shot just 38% from the field and 28% from three-point range. If they can't hit shots, they will have no chance of beating the Nuggets.
